Artist's Reflection:
Swathe of Confusion is part of my Crossing Boundaries series, which explores how societal expectations can obscure identity and emotional clarity. The partially hidden face, with downcast eyes, evokes a quiet sense of vulnerability and internal silence. Created through my #CameraAsBrush process, the piece blends digital and analogue photography, image reconstruction, and layered composition to express the feeling of being caught between cultural norms. Influenced by modernist abstraction and my own experience navigating between cultures, this work draws from both conceptual and experimental practices. It reflects my ongoing exploration of how identity and emotion are often concealed beneath surface appearances. This is the only remaining piece from its original edition. I have since chosen to create only one-of-a-kind artworks, each treated as a personal and unrepeatable expression of my journey.
