Call for Artists

Welcome to The Charoen AArt. A space where work is experienced through the context of the space and the people within it.

We invite artists whose work feels honest, thoughtful, and grounded in personal experience.

  • We are interested in work with a strong sense of direction and intention. This may come through personal narratives, cultural context, experimentation, or the way materials are used.

We are open to a wide range of practices, including photography, painting, installation, moving image, and emerging forms.

  • We work with artists through conversation and collaboration. Each project develops in response to the work and the space, with a focus on clarity, mutual respect, and how the work is experienced.

    • High-Quality Images: Submit up to 30 images of your work (JPEG or PNG, minimum resolution 1920 x 1080).
    • Artwork Details: Include the title, year, medium, dimensions, and any installation requirements.
    • Artist Biography: A brief introduction (75-100 words) highlighting your journey and achievements.
    • Artist Statement: A description (minimum 150 words) of your creative themes, techniques, and connection to our gallery’s mission. Ensure your statement reflects the storytelling aspect of your work
    • Portfolio Links (Optional): Share links to your website or social media.
    1. Complete the application form
    2. Ensure all required materials are included
    3. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis (up to 6 weeks)
  • We review each submission based on the strength of the work and how it might come into the space. Shortlisted artists may be invited to continue the conversation before any project is confirmed.

  • Participant Requirement

Artworks must be ready for exhibition and meet our standards. While our comprehensive insurance covers the building against fire and theft, artists are responsible for arranging insurance for their own artworks. Artworks cannot be removed before the exhibition concludes. Further discussions regarding exhibition details will take place with selected artists.

    Collaboration

We see each project as a collaboration between the artist and the space. This involves dialogue, clarity, and a shared commitment to the outcome.

    • Selected participants will be required to enter into a separate written agreement outlining exhibition terms and conditions.
