About the Work:
This sculpture reflects the environment surrounding the artist’s studio, where the movement of daily life meets layers of structure and care. A traffic cone paired with a veterinary shield suggests both regulation and human presence. The figure draws from Thai cultural imagery, where mythological guardians often appear with multiple arms, symbolising strength and protection. The work brings together personal surroundings and broader ideas of resilience. It is built from collected materials and shaped into a quiet tribute to those who adapt, endure, and remain.

Artist’s Note:
This work reflects the street where my studio is located. It captures the chaos, care, and overlapping elements of daily life in a place where many worlds intersect. At the centre is a cone with a veterinary shield, a symbol of both protection and limitation. Inspired by my time in Thailand, the figure also draws from images of mythological guardians. It stands for survival, preparedness, and the invisible forces we carry with us. The piece is both a portrait of place and a tribute to the quiet resilience that unfolds within it.
