About the Work:
This sculpture reflects on distance, control, and vulnerability in a world shaped by technology. A quiet landscape is interrupted by the presence of a drone, while scattered mannequin parts and a gas mask suggest a fragmented figure. There is no confrontation, only stillness and exposure. The form is made from materials collected in Bangkok, assembled into a scene where threat and silence exist together. The work invites reflection on how calm surfaces may conceal unseen pressures, and how presence is often shaped by what is not visible.

Artist’s Note:
This sculpture explores the tension between innocence and unease. A red umbrella marked with contrasting symbols becomes a modern totem, combining childhood familiarity with deeper undercurrents. A skull and bones painted on a tyre fragment stands in place of a road sign, shifting its meaning. These elements are brought together to reflect how ordinary objects can carry layered associations. The work considers how the visual world often blends comfort and threat, creating symbols that feel both familiar and unsettling.
